Needles Highway, Wind Cave National Park, Wildlife loop

Today was another packed day.  We were exploring the Black Hills on Needles Highway. Our large cars just barely fit through some of the tunnels!

We got out of the car and did some hiking every so often.

We stopped midday for a hike through Wind Cave.  This place is amazing and the kids made it through the 2 1/2 tour with no complaint!  This is one of the only places in the world with boxite formations and it was just beautiful!

After the cave, the kids were happy to rest in the car while we drove the wildlife loop.  Unfortunately, we only saw two animals:(

Maria was so angry to have come all the way from Sweden and not really seen any buffalo!!  As we were driving back to our campsite, we hit a traffic jam at a hill.  We could not see want was going on.  Finally, we come over the hill, and the trip is SAVED!  Buffalo all over the road!!

Now the Swedes could go back home with extreme closeups of the buffalo!
