My Princess is FOUR!

My baby turned four today.  I am having a hard time processing that.  Anyway, we started with a happy birthday breakfast.  For some reason, Lotta has no idea how to blow out a candle.  She keeps blowing over the flame.  Finally, after several attempts, she got it out.

She choose to get her nails done at the salon, so us girls went for a little pampering.

Then it was time to head home for the party.  Skylar helped Charlotta get dressed and ready.
I love this picture.  Please, for the next two years, ignore the dead tooth.  She whacked her mouth on a chair and the tooth has died.  They won't do anything since it is a baby tooth and will fall out "soon."
"The Birthday Princess is sitting down," announces Lotta.  She couldn't wait for the party to start!

 Lotta loved her princess cake!
But, again had problems getting the candles out.
After a lot of coaching, and a little burnt hair, we finally got them out.
 "Hey, those are my presents!!"
 What is this???
After lots of presents, she went to bed a very happy girl!

Picking flowers

We were at another ball game and Lotta was supposed to be playing on the playground.  I could not find her anywhere and then, out of the corner of my eye I found her.  She was picking "blowers" (dead dandillions) way out in the fields.  It was so cute, watching her run from flower to flower.

When we got home, Brennen lost his first baby tooth!  He was so happy and proud:)

Graduation Day:)

Yes, we do have a Kindergarten graduation.  So, hat's off to you, Brennen, for passing Kindergarten!
He was so excited to get there!
Trying to be serious and behaved.
 Oh, I found you...
 Brennen's class of 2014.
Getting his diploma.  The whole audience laughed at his cheeky smile!

A meeting at Adventureland!!!

Lena (my baby sister) was up in Iowa visting her in-laws and gave me a call to see if we could meet up at Adventureland in Des Moines.  It was exactly a half-way point for both of us, so Charlotta and I made a day of it (the other kids were having their last day adventures at school)!
Lena and Charlotta had so much fun together!

Little Lena is a big daredevil and went on all of the rides including The Dragon and The Tornado!  Lotta was jealous that she was not tall enough to go on the "fun rides," so we tried to pick some bigger rides that Lotta could enjoy.

A final train ride to end a fantastic day!

Tulip Time

Every year, the Dutch community around here hosts Tulip Time.  The band gets to march in the parade.  Last year, we got rained out, but this year, it was a beautiful day!  Skylar was so excited to march in her first parade.

James and Kellen waiting for the candy to be thrown and waiting for our marching band to appear.

A school mascot from a different school makes the kids happy.
Kellen is getting a little jealous that the tiger did not come to him...
Ok, now I'm happy!
Here comes THE BAND!!!!!
 And Skylar!!!

Dancing to the music:)

Lotta lovingly watches her sis.

One of Skylar's best friends and trumpet comrade, Chloe.
Then it is off to the rides (Skylar ditched us for her friends)!!

A good time was had by all!

A night of Oscars

Skylar's end of the year show was a night of music and singing from Oscar winning songs.  It showcased the 5th-8th grade choirs and bands.  It was a really well done show.  I am quite proud of where our music program is heading in Sioux Center.  And just so you know, more music oriented people are saying the same thing:)  She is standing under the 'O'.  I think you can find her in the bottom picture!

Kellen's End of the Year Performance

School is coming to an end and every one of them has their own show.  Tonight is for Kellen.  He got to be one of the special stars.  His hands are glowing in the dark for the song.  He was pretty proud of his performance!
