Derby Days!

We got in Wednesday night and decided to go out for dinner and drinks at Maker's Mark.  It was a really fun night.  There was a Mint Julep Contest going on and we had a few to many!

It was a quiet day today at the track, but we still had a lot of fun still.  We had time to figure out all the betting, relax and just have fun.

Day 2 at the Derby.  It was paint in pink day today, in honor of breast cancer survivors and only girl horses were allowed to run today.  They had the best drink-called a Lilly!  I think I had a few to many of those!

All the ladies in our group.
 JT and I.
 Churchill Downs Gardens!
The horses out of the starting gate.
 The fillies running.
 Finishing!
Day 3.  Today was the big day because the group that we were with actually had a horse running in the Derby (Dullahan) and he ended up getting third overall, so they were all happy!  Our suite stocked with Dullahan's colors to cheer him on.
Dressed to impress!

Mary J Blige singing the national anthem.
All the tents set up for the infield.   It was a record crowd today-160,000 people.
All the ladies.  Marilyn and Jim overslept this morning, so she did not have time to get her full get-up on!
 Our whole group.
 The start of the Derby!
 Go Dullahan!
It was a fantastic weekend!  Best of all, I got enough relaxing in that I was actually ready to get back and see my wonderful children.
