Easter/Spring Break

So this year for Easter, we went to the grandparent's in Arizona.  They had all sort of fun activities planned.  A spring carnival and Easter egg "hunt."

 Face painting.

 Setting up for the "hunt"
 Jumping in the bounce houses.

All ready for the mad dash...

 They are in there somewhere!
On Easter morning, we had brunch with the bunny.
And then went for a hike in the mountains.

A weekend in Chicago

Skylar has been trying to get a volunteer position at the Field Museum for the summer in Chicago.  Papa takes her out for red velvet waffles before her interview.  She did end up getting the "job!"

A day at the circus with Pippi!

I had the chance to be a chaperone for the first grade's trip to the circus.  Charlotta was so happy that I could come to school with her that day.  Lotta's friend Brianna.  We stop at a playground first, to get all the energy out and to have lunch.

 We had a fun day!

State swim meet

My kids finished the year out very strong.  They dropped time in everything and we even had a few podium swims!! James tried out some distance events this year and did very well in them.  He ended up 5th in his 1000, 7th in his 200 back, and 8th in his 100 back.

For some reason, they only put the top 3 on the podium for 13 and over, but Skylar got 4th in her mile and 5th in her 1000.  She also dropped  10 seconds in both her 400 IM and 500 Free.  Kellen got a nasty sty in his eye, but he still managed to drop a lot of time in his events -6 seconds in his 100 back!
We consider Avery a part of our family, so where we go, she goes!
Our 13 and over state qualifiers. The 12 and unders swim at a different time.

Tri-State Championships!

My kids all swam very well at our League Championship meet.  Although Brennen was sick, he gutted it out and came home with a lot of hardwear.  I am very proud of my little swimmers!  Charlotta also qualified for this meet (quite awesome for a 6 year old) in her 25 backstroke, but somehow she did not get in the picture.
 A close group of friends!
 1st in the 100 free!

 1st in the 100 back!
 1st in the 200 breast.
 3rd in the 50 back.
Off to state!
