Ok, so this is an old picture, but by the time we got back there today, it was too dark to take a new picture. The roof is all fixed and the house is all ours. We just can't believe it:) It just took a bit longer (3 hours) to close than we anticipated. We were about 2 min away from closing when our banker called and said HOLD ON. Mind you, we had already signed all the loan documents and the money had already been transferred to the lawyers, but all the sudden we could not close. The bank had just gotten the flood certificate and it said that the house IS in a flood plane and so all of the sudden, we have to have flood insurance. The appraisal of the house said that is was not in a flood plane. So now, we had no idea what to do. We tried to get a hold of our insurance agent (which took about an hour), then we had to wait for him to see if we could get and bind insurance that day. It was crazy. Finally we got everything taken care of, but by that time it was dark and we had to hurry home to get the kids. We only got to stop off at the house for about 5 minutes and then we had to rush home. Of course on the way home, JT gets pulled over for speeding. But, lucky for him, his license is expired, so he got a ticket for that instead of for speeding. So, after a few extra thousand dollars, we now have our lake home! It's open for visitors.
