Triathlon for the kids!

The kids LOVE to do triathlon (which makes Mama so happy!), so we signed them up! The kids at the pre-race meeting, with Skylar's good friend Avery.
Skylar so far in the lead on the swim, you can't even see the rest of the group!
 First out of the water:)

Exploring the Rockies via the highest highway in the world!

This is our last day on our grand adventure!  Sadly, we have to head home tonight:(  But, we still have one day of beautiful nature.

Skylar climbed up this hill and caught the eye of this fellow.  JT thought for sure she was going to be gorged, but she made it down in one piece.

Breaking the law and going on the tundra!
One last high hike for Skylar and I.
After this, we start to head for home. We timed it perfectly.  About an hour after this, it started to downpour for the next two days!

July 4 in the Rockies!

Today was Rodeo Day! Also, it was 104 degrees:(

 Petting zoo.

 Rodeo time!

I was a lot of fun and now we have a bunch of kids wishing to be a cowboy/girl!  We headed back to the campground for dinner and fireworks.  However, it started pouring rain, so fireworks were out of the picture!
Delicious 4th of July dessert to finish the day:)

Crazy Horse and to the Rockies!

Time to head off to the Rockies!  On our way out, we stop at Crazy Horse memorial.

I'm not sure that much progress has been made since I was there 20 years ago.  Maybe it will be done when I am 80?

Sylvan Lake, Harney Peak, and an Old Fashion Chuckwagon Cookout

Today we headed to beautiful Sylvan Lake.  A few of us wanted to do a little hiking up Harney Peak.  I completely ignored the sign that said 4-5 hour hike.  I am in good shape and we can do it in three!  Half of the hikers were only going up halfway, but Skylar and I were doing the whole thing!
Starting out-a happy bunch! Beautiful views and forest life:)

This was a good stopping point.  Henrik, Maria and James went back down and Skylar and I continued up!

We made it all the way to the top!

We had to run back down!  We knew they would leave us if we were not down in time for the cookout.  It did take us 5 hours:( and we had a few angry people at us!  But we made it and the views were worth it!!

After a day of playing in the lake, we had some tired kids! We made it in plenty of time for the cookout and of course had tons of fun playing cowboy for the night!  Our wagon host was amazing and the songs he sang were so fun!

Serious stuff here.

Trying to be serious cowboys!  Brennen just can't do it!

Best picture!  Maria is just so happy;)
 Our host...

It was time for the traditional cowboy dancing--you know, the chicken dance, hokey pokey...
