Lots of ice
Everything was covered in a heavy layer of ice today! I always think it is so pretty hanging off of the trees!

TriState
Skylar was really hoping to have a picture of her with a trophy for high point from Tri-State, but she had one of her worst meets of the year. To get a high point trophy, you have to do well in all of your events. Each race is worth up to 20 points based on what place you get and the top 3 people who have scored the most by the end of the meet get a high point trophy. She got DQ'd in her butterfly (a very questionable call, she has not been DQ'd in two years in that events) so no points there and added time in everything but her backstroke. Despite all of those things, she still placed 5th overall. James did outstanding in his backstroke and should be a force to be reckoned with in the next few years!

Hair cuts
Skylar, James and Kellen all got it into their heads to cut their own hair recently. Skylar cut about 2 inches off of one side of her hair and then came out and asked me if one side looked shorter than the other. "Now that you mention it, it does. What did you do?" So I quick trimmed 2 inches off the rest of her hair (that was a pretty easy fix). Then James and Kellen, independent of each other cut their bangs (Kellen also took a big chunk out of the side of his head). This I am unable to fix, so they had to go to the hair dresser.
Before (James has a nut in is tooth for some reason):(
After:
I think it makes Kellen look so much older!
Charlotta loves Kellen more than any one and she just could not stop looking at her boy!

Cub Scouts Father/Son Cake Contest
For the cub scouts meeting this week, it was a father/son cake baking contest. It was supposed to be a cake made by the father and son and their were three categories where it would be judged-tallest cake, cake most representing a cub scout theme, and most creative. We are a little skeptical about some of the cakes being made by a father son team, but oh well. Here is what James and Papa came up with. They decided to go with blue and yellow as a cub scout theme, but they could not get the blue color quite right. I think that JT has found a new skill and he is now in charge of making birthday cakes!
Here are some of the other cakes:
We are a little skeptical about these two being made by dads. Number 1 is scout camp complete with frosting trees and a lake, 2 is molded rice krispy treat castle.
These look a little more like cakes made by dads! They had fun though and that is what is most important!

"Brennen, don't cut your penis!"
Those are literally the words that I uttered today. Never thought I would have to warn my son to not cut off his "you-know" with a pair of child scissors. Kellen and Brennen have become obsessed with cutting things. Brennen had taken off all of his clothes for some reason and must of thought, why not try cutting this off. Thank goodness, I caught him lining up everything so carefully!
