What we've been doing!

On Thursday, I picked up Skylar from camp. The girls were all so excited to see their parents!

Then they had a small ceremony for us. Skylar was so eaten by bugs, all she could think about was scratching her bug bites. She was also very tired. She told me that the councilors had to wake her up in the mornings and she was not very happy with them for that. I also do not think that she brushed her hair at all while she was at camp. Oh well!

After the ceremony, they got to walk under the oars to get their certificates.

Then we got to head home. When we got there we took a nice big bubble bath to get all cleaned up!

On Friday, Matt and Katie came and we spent the day with them.

Saturday was the 4th. We started the day with a little Kubb (a Swedish yard game).

It was very bad weather all day, so that altered our plans a bit. Ross and Allison came up to visit as well.

We were going to spend the day at the lake, but since it was raining, we couldn't do that. So we spent the day playing at grandma and grandpas. Brennen enjoys a little 4th of July meal!

Matt and Ross kept playing golf until really late (this is the green off of the house)!

Then we did some sparklers!

Even Oma did some sparklers!

Skylar's back at camp!

This time Skylar is off to Camp Tanglefoot for Chic-a-Dee camp. This is just a camp about camping, hiking, and swimming. When she got there, she screamed at the top of her lungs, "I love Girl Scouts!" I thought the place was so cute and again, she made friends in about 2 seconds.

Hurray for James!!

James did a really big thing today! You know how all the slides at pools have a height limit? Well, James passed the swimming test so that he could go on the slides with out being 48" tall. He had to swim all the way across the pool without touching the bottom or hanging onto the side and he made it!! I was so proud of him. When he first tried, he did not understand that he could not grab the side. So then we had to practice and he finally made it. Then we had to show the lifeguard and by then he was so tired I was worried he wouldn't make it. But he did. He was sooooo happy and he ran up the stairs as fast as he could! Then he sat on the side of the pool for the next 20 min because he was so tired from all of his swimming. Here is his patch that he has to wear on his suit so that the lifeguards know that he passed the test and does not have to be so tall!

One fun day!

Skylar had a friend over today and they wanted to get the pool out. So I filled it up and of course it led to a water fight. The girls were a little brutal to poor James so he decided to tch them duke it out from the inside. They still tried to attack him though and he thought that was so funny!

Then we got invited to go on a bike ride with friends.

Kellen is always so afraid that I am going to pinch his chin when I put his helmet on (with good reason, I did pinch him once).

I bought a new seat for the back of the bike so that now I can pull three kids behind me. James can't ride for a long time so now we can go on a longer bike ride all together. After the bike ride we went over to their house for some smores, treats and watermelon.

Skylar and James work on getting their marshmallows melty for their smores!

Kellen kept singing "Happy Birthday" while he was eating his marshmallows. I have no idea how he connects marshmallows to birthday!

Man, this watermelon is good!

Kellen agrees.

Brennen just chilling out with his papa!

He did get really tired and want to go to bed, but he managed to hold on and stay awake!

The adults just hanging out and enjoying some time around the fire!

It's getting dark....

Pitcures from the lake

Saturday was our first time out on the lake this summer and we really had a great time! Unfortunately, I forgot my camera so I had to wait to get the pictures from moms camera. Anyway, here we are!

I can't believe how grown-up she is!

A little Mexican after a day on the lake!
