This year, Charlotta demanded to come and get her nails done as well. She did not move a muscle the whole time. She sat as still as could be and gave the nail lady this look....
Then we were off to Omaha for the weekend. The Seahawks (our team from Sioux Center) have not been able to have a relay at Midwestern's for 10 years. That requires that four kids of the same gender and age qualify in the same year. However, this year our 9-10 year old girls were able to do that! Not only did they compete in two relays, but they did very well. They placed sixth in the freestyle relay and fourth in the medley relay. Remember, that is fourth in the whole state! We were pretty proud to be Seahawks this weekend. Here are our girls: Avery Koopmans (freestyle), Macay Van't Hul (breaststroke), Skylar (backstroke), and Maria DeJong (butterfly).
The girls, cheering each other on...
Skylar on the blocks ready to go.
And she's off... Finishing with a fantastic split of 32.57 for her 50 of the free relay.
Sushi always makes Skylar swim fast, so of course, we had to fill our bellies!
Skylar's best race of the weekend..100 backstroke. She dropped four seconds and placed 15th in the state. I was really proud of her.
As usual, we had to go to the Amazing Pizza Machine to celebrate.
Deal or No Deal is the favorite.
A good weekend overall.
