Spring break in Boston

We don't get a spring break, we get an Easter break.  This year, I decided to head to Boston because 1. I have not met my new nephew yet and 2. I have never really explored Boston.  Sounded like a great plan to me!  Conor was instantly in love with Skylar  and they spent a lot of time together over the weekend.
Eamon is such a sweet little honey and I am so happy I got to meet him!
For our first adventure, we headed to the Science Center.  It is a really great place and the kids just loved it!

They have a butterfly garden inside the science center and I think the kids spent the most time there.

 More lovin' on our cousins!

The most popular game-Star Wars in the yard!
The next day, we took a historical boat tour of Boston and then we went to the Aquarium.
The stingray exhibit was really neat.  The kids loved the chance to pet them!
 The Griswold  Dean family photo!
Trefor came down to spend a little time with us.  That was really nice of him, so we took them all out for an Easter Brunch.

Then it was back to Wystan and Liz's for the Easter egg hunt.

 The opening of the eggs...
 One last cuddle session!
We had a great time!! Thanks Wystan and Liz for the hospitality.

Finally--the big meet!

State is what all of the kids are trying to make it to throughout the year.  This year Kellen (1 event), James (2) and Skylar (6) all made it.  Kellen was a bit of a shocker, but he dropped a lot of time this year in his backstroke!! Skylar and her best friend, Avery!
Kellen was the fourth 9-10year old boy to qualify from our team, so we got to have a relay!  The boys did really great in their relays, placing sixth and ninth!  That's pretty good for small town Sioux Center.
Our crew-we consider Avery a part of the family:)
Skylar had the best meet of everyone, getting best times in all of her events-including dropping 25 seconds in her mile!

Last Chance Meet

This is the last chance the kids have to qualify for some events at the state swim meet.  We are hoping for some fast swimming!  The kids have been sick, so it is a little iffy on how they will do.

They swam very well.  We made a few and just missed a few by less than 1/2 second.  A little heart breaking, but there is always next year:)

A week of performances

This week, it seems that all of  the kids have some kind of performance at night.  It gets to be a very long week!

Monday night: Vocal concert
 Tuesday Night: PE performance

 Thursday Night: Soup supper/band concert
Two brothers being friends for once!
I have to hurray and pack now for a swim meet all weekend!

Yeah!!! Dead tooth is gone!!!!!!

I really hated that dead tooth.  Unfortunately/fortunately, the dead tooth got infected and Charlotta's whole face swelled up, so she had to get it pulled.  Secretly, I am so happy that it is gone!!

Later that night, Kellen had his music concert.  He loves to sing, but he inherited the Benbow family singing genes.
