Baking at Vallhalla

We spent the weekend at the lake house just relaxing and being together. Skylar and James and I did a little baking together and I thought they made the cutest chefs.

An Auntie for the second time this week!

My brother and his beautiful wife, had their baby today-Conor Michael Benbow! A auntie twice in one week--AWESOME! We were texting back and forth all morning, so I felt like I was there a little bit. I am so happy for them!

Funny Boy Brennen!

Brennen is very shy around new people. As a matter of fact, he usually just hides from them.

But my favorite thing that he does is he rolls his eyes to the top of his head and just pretends you don't exist . He walks around with his eyes rolled up ignoring you. It is so funny, but very hard to catch on camera. I just happen to have the camera when a friend walked in and up went those eyes.

After he decided the friend was OK, he decided to play peek-a-boo with him!

Random thoughts

Kellen has now passed through the "I have to be naked all the time" phase and moved into the "I only wear PJ's" phase. He refuses to take off his PJ's, even when he goes to school. He insists on wearing the jams under his clothes (since it is so cold, I have no problem with that right now). My favorite addition is the pair of shorts that he has to wear on top of the PJ's. It is quite a look!

My exercise resistance bands have been demoted to chew toy. Brennen loves to chew on these things.

I have been planning on placing pictures of the kids on this wall for years. It has been blank and empty since we moved in four years ago. I finally got it done yesterday. Talk about procrastanation. One frame for each kiddo, with the frame for baby number five filled with family photos until she/he arrives!

Lena had her baby!

Lena Camilla Jensen, 8 lbs 2 oz.--That's all I know right now!

The Cool Kid Sunglasses

I don't know why, but everyone wanted to wear these sunglasses today.

Skylar swam awesome at Tri-State!

Skylar had another really good swim meet today. She dropped time in every event she swam. She dropped 5 seconds in her 100IM and got second place! She almost had a 1st in her 25 breast. She was 1/2 a body length ahead of everyone when she hit the wall on the side of the pool (her goggles were full of water and she couldn't see) and just stopped and had to start all over again. Unfortunately, she ended up fourth even though it was a close race (1st had 26.15 and she had 26.52-still a lifetime best even after hitting the wall and stopping). She was so heart broken that she ran into the wall because she had that 1st place trophy in her hand! Because of that mishap, she ended up fourth in overall points and just missed out on a high point trophy (Each place you get in a race gives you a certain amount of points-1st gets 7, 2nd gets 6 and so on-and whoever has the most points at the end of the meet gets high point trophy, so so have to swim well in all of your events to get that)! She swam so well and had lifetime bests in everything, yet she was so sad at the end of the meet because she missed out on her trophy! I could not of been prouder of her, but that did not seem to matter to her. I keep telling her to remember she is only 7 and has a whole year left at 8 and under.

A Temporary Truce

See, these two can get along. They were not fighting for all of 10 min., watching Cars was way more important.

I had to drive up to our new lake house today to check the mailbox for some bills and it looked so lonely. I can't wait for summer! The snow drifts were up to my waist, so I could not get in the driveway at all.

Yes, my friends, my daughter IS wearing a snuggie!

My kids just love this Snuggie ("Mom, it's so warm!). Of course, the fact that it is a Viking Snuggie helps a lot!


She doesn't quite understand why I think it is so funny that she likes to wear a Snuggie!

Another day of school cancelled:(

Since school was cancelled again, I had to take Skylar and James with me on my errands. I had to go to Sioux City to order a bridesmaid dress and flowergirl dress for Lena's wedding. After we did that, we had to stop at a few other stores and then we went to the Olive Garden for lunch. Skylar and James were so pleased so get a milkshake!

Another Sunday playing games!

Sunday's are usually lazy days at home with the family! Here Kellen and James are playing a fishing game together.

Movie night!

Every now and then on a Friday night, we get fast food (Culver's usually), rent a few movies, pop some popcorn, get some candy and pop and we veg out on the couch for movie night. The kids just LOVE movie night, but the 10,000 calories makes Mama do it sparingly.

Video problems again

I know that some people are having problems watching the videos below. I have no idea what is going on, but if you go to December of 2009 and watch the video of Brennen walking, then go back to the other videos, they will work.

An unexpected day!

Last night Lovisa got a phone call from the airlines that her flight for today was cancelled and it got rescheduled for Wednesday. So we got a whole extra day together! I was pretty excited. So were the kids, especially James. He unfortunately woke up at 12:30 last night and was crying, until 3 in the morning, that his ears hurt. I made a doctor appointment first thing today and sure enough, he had a double ear infection plus a sinus infection. He wanted to go back to school though because today is his half birthday and summer birthday's get to celebrate on their half birthday. He went back to school and ended up throwing up twice, so he got sent home. He sure had a lot of fun playing Mario Cart with Lovisa (he really did not seem very sick)!

Brennen loves to play in the cabinets.


While the boys were napping, Lovisa and I got in a game of Agricola (my favorite game in the whole world).

It was a really nice day for us!

Skylar made MIDWEDSTERNS!!!

For those of you who don't know what that means, it is a really big deal! It is like making it to the superbowl of swimming!! She swam really well today at the swim meet and her mama was as proud as could be. You can hear, Lovisa and I cheering her on! This was her breaststroke (her best) where she qualified. I was really sad for her because her goggles fell in her mouth, but she kept on going and swam awesome!

Visa's Here!!

For my birthday (which is in August), Lovisa gave me a trip to come and visit me. This is the best gift she could have given me. Mostly we just spend a lot of time talking, but she does get really into playing with the kids! I am just so happy to spend time together even though we are not doing anything crazy these days. Here she is enjoying a rousing game of Hullabaloo!

Mrs. Fix-it at it again!

So the toilet has been running for the past couple of weeks. I first put in a new flapper because the old one had totally disintegrated. I thought that would solve the problem, but no. It still kept refilling about every 5 min. So today, I installed a whole new flush valve system. I should have been a plumber! No more running toilet! Yeah me!

I also finally had my ultrasound today and everything on the baby looks good and normal. All the parts and piece are there. Sorry folks, we didn't find out what it is. Anyway, the baby weighs 1 lb 1oz. now. Soon enough it will be here!
