A change in bathtime
Bathtime has become unbearable for me, so I decided to change things up. See Kellen and James fight all of the time and with the two of them in the tub together it was awful. So I have pulled James out of the equation and he has to shower by himself now. There was no fighting between Brennen and Kellen so it was much more pleasant for everyone, especially me!

An unusual duo!
Usually, it is always Skylar and James playing together. But the past couple of days, Skylar and Kellen have been bonding a bit. Kellen started out by going outside (unknown to us)in his flip flops and PJs. He came in and told me he was playing outside with Piper and that his feet were cold (I thought that meant he was done). Then I heard the sliding door open and close again. I went to check on him and he was outside in his slippers (you know warmer feet) and PJ's. So, I called him back in and got him properly dressed to play outside and Skylar decided to join him! So, while Brennen ate lunch, the two of them played together out in the snow for a long time. They were so cute together and Kellen was so happy to have Skylar to himself! Then the whole rest of the day, Kellen said, "I go play with Skylar!" and he followed her around everywhere.

A night out at the pool
I usually take Skylar and James to the pool on Sunday's when the two little ones are napping and they love that. But I wanted to make sure Kellen and Brennen got to go, so we went after naptime today. Brennen was a little bit scared at first, but then he warmed up and just loved it. All of the kids had a great time.
I was on the lilypads and i was dancing to the beat of the pool.then i splashed my baby brother.then dad told me not to. then dad let me take brennen down the slide. (Written by Skylar)

The newest Sioux Center craze!
Skylar came home from school yesterday saying, "Go to I'm a gummy bear.com! You have to hear this." This kids seem to love it!

Play number one.
Sorry for the Kellen crying. He was dancing with everyone, then when I turned on the camera he got really shy and when we tried to make him dance, he started to cry. That boy sure does NOT like an audience (unlike his sister Skylar!).

Trouble seeing the video below
If you can't see the Skylar piano video, go to December of 09 and click on Brennen walking. Then watch the video. Then go back to the SKylar video and it should work. I have no idea why, but it does.

Skylar starts Piano lessons
James really wanted to learn how to play piano. So then, of course, Skylar thought it would be fun as well. Well, when I called around no one would take James because they say that he is too young, but I did manage to get Skylar signed up. So, Skylar started piano lessons today. I was quite surprised at how excited she was to get home and start practicing! She really seems to enjoy it.

Halfway!
Skylar made Tri-State!!!!!
We were at a swim meet all weekend and Skylar swam really awesome! I was so proud of her, I thought my chest would explode! She dropped 3 seconds in her 25 free and qualified for Tri-State. She actually swam so well that she is now only one second away from qualifying for the Midwestern swim meet (a really fast, awesome swim meet!). She dropped 1 1/2sec. in her back and qualified for Tri-State. She dropped 4 seconds in her breast and smashed the q time for Tri-State. Again, she swam that one so well that she is now 1/2 second from qualifying for Midwesterns in that event!! She is so excited that she could make it to Midwesterns. She also dropped 3 seconds in her fly and is now 1 second from q time to Tri-State. You would think with dropping all that time, she would have dropped a ton of time in her 100 IM (one length of all the strokes), but no, she added time. Who knows? She is .2sec. away from qualifying for Tri-state in that! I think she should make it! Anyway, I am just so proud that I had to brag!!! She also did really well in her swim-a-thon last week! She swam 18 laps which is really good! I am afraid that she might be a distance swimmer (no parent likes to sit through the distance events!). Oh well, such is life! I am still just so proud of her.
Waiting to be called for her 25 breast.
Take your marks...
Swimming hard!
Relaxing between events.

Emergency Blankie-otomy!
Help..., Blankie is hanging on by a thread!! This morning while Kellen was watching TV, he decided to put his head through a large hole in his blanket. I had noticed that it was in bad shape, but this put me into action. I was worried that he would fall asleep with that around his neck and choke himself. So, I dusted off the sewing machine (and the instructions) and got to work!
Blankie is now in stable condition and Kellen is thrilled! Blankie has some ugly looking scars now, but he will survive.
Brennen does not fully understand the seriousness of Blankie's condition. He looks on safe and secure (and slightly annoyed at all the drama) in the knowledge that his blanket is having no problems. Oh, and you can all stop laughing now at the image of me at the sewing machine (I know it is just not right)!

Outside at last!

Our cold snowy coffin!
Help!! We are trapped inside yet again. With snow up to my waist and drifts over my head and 25 mph winds with wind chill to -25F, it is impossible to get outside. Of course school was cancelled today! Of course mama is already on her last strand of sanity since JT has been gone since Sunday, but we will survive! So what do we do? Well, Kellen picks on poor little sick Brennen and makes him cry, James cries because his throat is still hurting and he is probably starving since he has not eaten much since his surgery last Monday, Skylar tries to defend Brennen making Kellen cry and mom yells at Skylar to not hurt Kellen. SO, we have one big happy family:) Anyway, in a rare moment of peace, this is what the kids do.
Brennen tries to play trains at the same time as Kellen, but Kellen always shoves him out of the way. Poor kid! But he always comes back for more.
James makes a "project."
Skylar, as always, uses her imagination to play. I have never known anyone who can do imaginative play as long as she can!
Hopefully, this weather will ease up soon, but it does not look like it:(
